In general, you cannot return an unwanted purchase to us, unless: 

 

Not what you ordered?

If we accidentally deliver the wrong artwork to you or if the artwork is not as described on the Website, please notify us and we will collect the artwork from you at no charge. Once we have inspected the artwork and validated your return, we will, at your choice, deliver the correct artwork to you as soon as possible (if the correct artwork is available); or refund you the purchase price.

Artwork damaged on delivery:

Should an artwork be damaged at the time of delivery please notify us of such by either calling Michelle Lewis on 083 391 3475 or by email :- sembachgallery@gmail.com

We will arrange to collect the artwork from you at no charge. Once we have inspected the artwork and validated your return, we will, at your choice, repair / replace the artwork as soon as possible (if such repair / replacement is possible) or refund you if that is your preference.  Refunds are normally handled within 8 days of logging the return (bear in mind that refunds can take 1-4 working days to reflect in your account). Repairs and replacements could take longer, depending on material availability.

 

Defective Artworks:

We do our best to ensure that the artworks we deliver to you are of a high quality and without flaws. 

What is a flaw? A flaw is an imperfection or any characteristic of the artwork, which makes the artwork less acceptable than one would reasonably be entitled to expect in the circumstances.

The following will NOT be regarded as defects and will not entitle you to a return :-

  • imperfections resulting from normal wear and tear;

  • artistic imperfections intentionally created by the artist;

  • damage arising from negligence, user abuse or incorrect storage of the artwork;

  • damage arising from a failure to adequately care for the artwork;

  • damage arising from unauthorised alterations to the artwork; and

  • where the specifications of an artwork, although accurately described on the Website do not meet your aesthetic expectations.

 

Standard Warranty:

If you have received an artwork which turns out to be damaged, please notify us as soon as reasonably possible after you become aware of the defect, but in any event within 48 hours after delivery of the artwork.

Please provide suitable packaging for returning the artwork (it need not be the original packaging), – regardless of whether you request a repair / replacement or a refund. Our courier is entitled to refuse collection of an artwork that is not properly packaged for transport.

It is also important to note that it will be at the artist’s discretion whether  to repair or replace the item, or to refund you. 

The Sembach Gallery is under no obligation to provide you with a credit, repair / replacement for any return logged after 30 days.

Charges:

If you return an artwork that does not comply with this policy, you may be liable for all freight costs.
